Noah's Giggles

We've been trying to get a video of Noah giggling for awhile now and I think we finally got a little something.  Enjoy!

5 Months Old

Noah turned 5 months old on Monday.  He's just growing too fast and it breaks my heart because he's our last one and such a happy, fun baby.  I'd have six more kids if they were all going to have his temperament.  :)

I was able to borrow a bumbo seat from a friend and most of the time he likes it but every now and then he doesn't.  I think he was ready for bed in the picture below and he would've cried no matter what we were doing. 

 We started sweet potatoes this week and at first he wasn't too sure about them.

By the time he finished the container, he had decided they were pretty good and has been eating them well, the entire container, plus drinking all of his bottle.  This boy has an appetite!

 He's been having a good time hanging out in the Johnny Jumper.  It's great because he can turn around and see most of the rooms downstairs, or at least what's going on in the rooms we're typically in. 

After bouncing awhile in the Johnny Jumper I took him out and laid him in the floor gym thinking he might like to stretch out and play for awhile.  I was wrong!  Next thing I knew, he was sound asleep, never made a peep.  He's done this several times before.  When he's tired, he's tired, and he'll just go to sleep wherever without even fussing sometimes.  It amazes me everytime!

Beauticians in the Making

The girls LOVE to do hair!  Grandpa Kenny bravely let them work on his and he's probably still sore from their styling techniques.  They fixed Grandma Kathy's hair too but she wouldn't let me take any pictures of her.  I think she probably had 80-100 clips in her hair by the time they were done.  Such good sports Grandpa and Grandma are!

This picture below makes me laugh... check out my Dad's face... I don't think the girls were being very gentle!

Birthday Weekend

Last weekend we celebrated my birthday and my parents came to visit.  It was so good to see them!  We usually go a long time between our Christmas and spring visits because the weather usually isn't all that great for traveling.

 Michael did a great job shopping for me.  I've wanted a mixer like this for awhile and he's super excited to eat all of the mashed potatoes and cookies I'll be making with it.  =)

 We had cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory to celebrate and it was DELICIOUS!  We were hoping to eat dinner there but the wait to get a table was an hour and 30 minutes so we passed and went to Max and Erma's instead.

 Mom and Dad were a great help with the kids.  They watched them for us on Sunday night so that we could go out on a date which hadn't happened since before Noah was born.  It was so nice!



Time for Cereal

We've debated starting Noah on cereal and decided on Saturday that we'd give it a try. This boy was ready! He ate it right up, barely even made a mess, and did great opening his mouth and swallowing. What a big boy!

The Tooth Fairy

Audrey is often changing her identity and her name most recently has been Tooth Fairy. Anna has a loose tooth so that's been a hot topic in our house and Audrey is now certain that she's the tooth fairy. Anna better watch out... Audrey might get the idea of ripping her tooth out for her in one of their disagreements. :)

Sick Kiddos

First, Audrey came down with it, then Noah, and finally Anna. They've all had fevers, sore throats, and congestion. Audrey and Noah had terrible coughs. Noah coughed so hard he vomitted several times and not just a little bit, but an entire bottle's worth. He covered me, himself, the furniture, and floors many times. That lasted for about 3 days. I can always tell that my kids are getting sick by the way their eyes look. Anna and Audrey have had a croup-like cough with this cold virus and Anna's had to spend time out on the back porch breathing in the cold air to help her get comfortable. Hopefully, once this is past, we'll all be healthy all at once for more than just a week at a time. I am very grateful for medicine and doctors and most of all for our Father in Heaven, who is the best physician of all and can take our calls anytime of the day. :)

It doesn't matter if this little guy is feeling rotten or not, he's still full of smiles. What a sweetie!

Little Bit of Spring

We've had a few nice, warm, sunny spring days but definitely not enough of them.  On the yucky, cold, rainy, dreary days I just have to simply look at the purse Michael got me for Valentine's Day and I cheer up a bit.  I know it's silly but I really love this pattern so I thought I'd share it with you all.  My sisters got me hooked on Vera Bradley purses many years ago and the love for them continues.  =)

Disney Princesses on Ice

A few weeks ago, the girls and I had a Mommy/Daughters date and went to see the Disney Princesses on Ice.  It was a Fantastic show!  We all left wanting to be princesses ourselves.  Enjoy the pictures below.

A new toy

We've started putting Noah in the exersaucer and he loves it.  He can be upright now to watch his crazy sisters dance, sing, play, and get into trouble.  No wonder he smiles so much while playing in it!  I've tried so hard to get him to laugh on video but I've not been successful yet.  He has the sweetest belly laugh (don't all babies?) and I'll keep trying until I capture it.  Don't mind me sounding like an idiot while I try to accomplish this. 

What Not to Wear

I love to watch the show on TLC "What Not to Wear" and if Audrey keeps up her lack of style, she'll definitely be on it someday.  :)  I'm not sure why I bother picking out her clothes in the morning because soon after that she goes back upstairs and chooses something else to wear from the dress up clothes tub.  Most days she wears an old sundress that used to be mine but every now and then she'll come downstairs with something crazy on like the outfits in the pictures below.  She's such a goof and keeps the laughter flowing in our house. 

Little Tractor Boy

This little boy is growing sooo fast!  He wore this outfit twice and now it no longer fits.  I put it on him for church last Sunday and I couldn't even button the cuffs around his chunky wrists and could barely button the shirt over his belly.  His pants are all getting too short and his socks won't even stay on because they're too small.  Time to go shopping - darn it!  :)

A+ Student

One thing is for sure:  Anna LOVES to learn!  She flies through workbooks and prefers to do those over anything else when she's at home.  She is an incredible reader already and loves to read anything she can get her hands on!  I'm so glad she likes to learn because I like to teach.  We have felt the Lord leading us to homeschool her next year and while we haven't made a final decision yet, I'm pretty sure in my heart that this is His will for her.  It's scary and "mind-boggling" to me but I trust that He will work it all out if it's His plan for our family. 

Frizzle

Audrey's most favorite book in the whole wide world is Gus and the Baby Ghost.  Ironically, this was MY favorite book as a little girl too and I still love it.  My mom HATES this book because she read it to me soooo many times when I was little and now Audrey is carrying on the love.  :)  She calls the book "Frizzle" because one of the main characters is Mr. Frizzle.  Thankfully I still like to read the book because Audrey can't convince her Daddy or her Grandma Kathy to read the book to her anymore as they've both read it way too many times.

The Thumb

I was holding Noah the other day and he was getting so sleepy.  He sucks his thumb to go to sleep and sometimes "just because" so I grabbed the camera and snapped a few pics before he dozed off (thus the reason these are so close to his face).  Anna was a thumb sucker too and we got very lucky as she broke herself of the habit when she was 18 months old after getting a cold that prevented her from sucking her thumb.  Wonder if we'll be that lucky with Noah?  :)

Audrey is 3!

Today Miss Audrey turned 3!  She's been anxiously awaiting her big day for weeks and it finally arrived.  She celebrated at church and at home and had a great day.  Thank you for the cards and phone calls to wish her a happy day.  I think she'll be sad tomorrow when it's not her birthday anymore.  Enjoy the slideshow and video below.

4 months old

Noah turned 4 months old last Friday and it's so bittersweet!  I just want to keep him like this forever although there are times when I look forward to all 3 kids being self sufficient and not so needy.  I'm quite emotional tonight as today was the last day for nursing.  I've had to go on medicine that's not safe for breastfeeding so he'll now be taking a bottle for each meal.  I had to pump this evening to give me some relief and it was heart wrenching pouring breast milk down the drain in the sink.  I do feel like this is God's will and after a few days it won't seem so bad but I hate to give up that special time between just he and I.

UPWARD

Anna finished her Upward basketball season last weekend.  She had good coaches and did great playing defense.  She also made some baskets and was a great encourager to her teammates. 

 Above, she's with her team after one of the games.  Below, she's running out of the tunnel after being introduced before the game.  This was a big hit as you can imagine. 

 Audrey wanted to play too of course so we let her wear Anna's uniform from last year.  It was a few sizes too big but she didn't care and looked quite cute as well. 

We are very grateful for this program that not only teaches children how to play basketball but also how to exhibit Christlike behavior and attitudes in all that they do. 

Such a Stinker!

Audrey has been such a stinker lately.  She's definitely trying to assert herself and she's not making the best choices.  Here she is below reading one of her favorite books to the snowman.

 I think she likes this book so well because she can relate to it. =) 

 And here she is teaching Noah some of her tricks.  Sometimes I have to look away because even in some of her rotten moments, she makes me laugh. 

 This picutre below cracks me up.  It's like Noah's pointing his finger at her saying, "Mom, do you see what she's doing?"  She has definitely made our house a bit more stressed lately but of course we still love her to pieces!
