What Not to Wear

I love to watch the show on TLC "What Not to Wear" and if Audrey keeps up her lack of style, she'll definitely be on it someday.  :)  I'm not sure why I bother picking out her clothes in the morning because soon after that she goes back upstairs and chooses something else to wear from the dress up clothes tub.  Most days she wears an old sundress that used to be mine but every now and then she'll come downstairs with something crazy on like the outfits in the pictures below.  She's such a goof and keeps the laughter flowing in our house. 

Little Tractor Boy

This little boy is growing sooo fast!  He wore this outfit twice and now it no longer fits.  I put it on him for church last Sunday and I couldn't even button the cuffs around his chunky wrists and could barely button the shirt over his belly.  His pants are all getting too short and his socks won't even stay on because they're too small.  Time to go shopping - darn it!  :)

A+ Student

One thing is for sure:  Anna LOVES to learn!  She flies through workbooks and prefers to do those over anything else when she's at home.  She is an incredible reader already and loves to read anything she can get her hands on!  I'm so glad she likes to learn because I like to teach.  We have felt the Lord leading us to homeschool her next year and while we haven't made a final decision yet, I'm pretty sure in my heart that this is His will for her.  It's scary and "mind-boggling" to me but I trust that He will work it all out if it's His plan for our family. 

Frizzle

Audrey's most favorite book in the whole wide world is Gus and the Baby Ghost.  Ironically, this was MY favorite book as a little girl too and I still love it.  My mom HATES this book because she read it to me soooo many times when I was little and now Audrey is carrying on the love.  :)  She calls the book "Frizzle" because one of the main characters is Mr. Frizzle.  Thankfully I still like to read the book because Audrey can't convince her Daddy or her Grandma Kathy to read the book to her anymore as they've both read it way too many times.

The Thumb

I was holding Noah the other day and he was getting so sleepy.  He sucks his thumb to go to sleep and sometimes "just because" so I grabbed the camera and snapped a few pics before he dozed off (thus the reason these are so close to his face).  Anna was a thumb sucker too and we got very lucky as she broke herself of the habit when she was 18 months old after getting a cold that prevented her from sucking her thumb.  Wonder if we'll be that lucky with Noah?  :)

Audrey is 3!

Today Miss Audrey turned 3!  She's been anxiously awaiting her big day for weeks and it finally arrived.  She celebrated at church and at home and had a great day.  Thank you for the cards and phone calls to wish her a happy day.  I think she'll be sad tomorrow when it's not her birthday anymore.  Enjoy the slideshow and video below.

4 months old

Noah turned 4 months old last Friday and it's so bittersweet!  I just want to keep him like this forever although there are times when I look forward to all 3 kids being self sufficient and not so needy.  I'm quite emotional tonight as today was the last day for nursing.  I've had to go on medicine that's not safe for breastfeeding so he'll now be taking a bottle for each meal.  I had to pump this evening to give me some relief and it was heart wrenching pouring breast milk down the drain in the sink.  I do feel like this is God's will and after a few days it won't seem so bad but I hate to give up that special time between just he and I.

UPWARD

Anna finished her Upward basketball season last weekend.  She had good coaches and did great playing defense.  She also made some baskets and was a great encourager to her teammates. 

 Above, she's with her team after one of the games.  Below, she's running out of the tunnel after being introduced before the game.  This was a big hit as you can imagine. 

 Audrey wanted to play too of course so we let her wear Anna's uniform from last year.  It was a few sizes too big but she didn't care and looked quite cute as well. 

We are very grateful for this program that not only teaches children how to play basketball but also how to exhibit Christlike behavior and attitudes in all that they do. 

Such a Stinker!

Audrey has been such a stinker lately.  She's definitely trying to assert herself and she's not making the best choices.  Here she is below reading one of her favorite books to the snowman.

 I think she likes this book so well because she can relate to it. =) 

 And here she is teaching Noah some of her tricks.  Sometimes I have to look away because even in some of her rotten moments, she makes me laugh. 

 This picutre below cracks me up.  It's like Noah's pointing his finger at her saying, "Mom, do you see what she's doing?"  She has definitely made our house a bit more stressed lately but of course we still love her to pieces!

Pillow Pets

We got each of the kids a pillow pet for Valentine's day and they love them, or at least the girls do.  This is as close to pets as we'll get in our house. :)

 You can lay on them like pillows or flip them over and hold them.

Hang Man

One of Anna's favorite games to play is Hang Man.  She's quite good at picking tricky words that stump me too.  Of course she thinks it's hilarious when I can't figure it out.  I think I lost part of my brain with the delivery of each child!  :-)

65 Degrees

This past week we were blessed with two gorgeous days of temperatures right at 65 degrees.  We took walks, played basketball and soccer, rode bikes, played hopscotch, tried to jump rope (comical!), opened the windows and just enjoyed the spring-like weather.  Noah went for his first "big boy" stroller ride without being in his carrier and loved it.

 The girls and I had fun making a train with our strollers and shopping cart.  Anna was prepared for the most dangerous train of her life wearing her helmet and knee pads.  =)  Thank you Lord for wonderful weather - Please bring it back and make it stay soon!

Who's Who?

Ok, it's pretty obvious who's who, or at least who the girls are but I haven't done a comparison post yet and here are pictures of our three kids each at 3 months old.  They have some similarities but none of them look exactly alike.  My thoughts - I think they all have the same nose, Anna's face is much narrower and longer (more like Michael's was as a baby) than Audrey and Noah's (their's looks more like mine did when I was a baby), Audrey and Noah look the most alike, Audrey definitely had the most hair,  they all have similar mouths, Anna's eyes are different than Audrey and Noah's, they're all adorable.  :0)  Your thoughts?

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day to you!  We had a special dinner tonight that was great fun!  While Daddy and the girls were at Anna's basketball practice, Mommy worked very fast setting the table with heart themed plates, cups, napkins, and lighted candles.  The lights were turned down low and dinner music was playing.  The menu consisted of gourmet heart shaped grilled cheese (Ha!) for the girls and chicken fajitas for the adults.  Once the girls got home they had to quickly get dressed up in their fancy dresses and put on some high heels and jewlery.  It was a fun way to have dinner on a special day.

Brrrr it's cold!!

 It has been so cold this week!  The snow is pretty but I do not enjoy the cold.  You know it's way too cold when you walk outside and you immediately feel like you have boogers in your nose because your nose hairs are frozen! 

The kids love to warm themselves up by laying on the floor in front of the fireplace with blankets.  There is usually lots of laughter when they're doing this too.  :)

 We've been couped up inside but have enjoyed snuggling, reading books, and watching movies.

 Audrey better watch out... Noah's going to catch her in size before too long! 

Daddy's Birthday

On Monday we celebrated Daddy's birthday and the girls were so excited to "plan" and decorate for his "party".  Who knew so much "planning" and excitement would go into a party with just the 5 of us?!  :0)

3 Months Old Today

Another month has flown by and Noah is 3 months old today.  Breaks my heart... he's such a sweet baby and I don't think it can get any better than this.  He sleeps great, he can't get into anything, he doesn't talk back, and he's not a picky eater.  =)  We are enjoying every minute with him and are so thankful we're getting to experience what it's like to have a happy, laid back baby.  Of course we love the girls but I don't think we enjoyed them much when they were babies because they cried so much, at least during the first 6 months.  It wasn't their fault, Anna didn't ask to have colic and Audrey didn't ask to have reflux but it made life very stressful.  With Noah being such a good baby, I'd love to have more babies, however, after much prayer we decided before he was even born that 3 blessings were enough and instead of praying for more children, we'd pray for wisdom to know how to teach the children we have to know and follow the Lord.

Rockin' Audrey

In December there was a t.v. show on called The Sing Off. We loved watching it and recorded each episode. Little did we know that the girls would want to watch those episodes over and over again. They LOVE music! We watch The Sing Off episodes at least once a week, usually more. Here's a video Michael took of Audrey jammin' away while Anna and I were at Awana. Sorry it's sideways, I've got to give him lessons on how to make a video.  :)
