A hunting daddy will go...

Daddy's been trying to fit in some time in the woods since bow season opened in Sept. He's not made it out much but has seen a few deer and shot at one. He says it's good therapy for him to be out in the woods which mommy and Anna just can't understand. :0) As you can see, Anna was not very happy that daddy was headed to the woods while we were at Grandpa and Grandma Smith's house over Thanksgiving. However, she loved playing in daddy's hunting gear!

Hat, Mittens, Scarf

We were going through Anna's "grow into tub" of clothes this morning and came across some much needed winter things. I do believe winter has arrived with the low last night being a chilly 26 degrees. BURRRR! Anna has had a blast wearing her new scarf, hat, and mittens today around the house as she plays. Pretty cheap entertainment as I believe I only paid 99 cents for each piece last year at the end of the season. Gotta love finding the bargains on Old Navy's clearance racks. :0)

Aunt Aimee

Aunt Aimee visited us this past weekend and what a blessing it was to have her come! She is such a great help, not only with Anna, but also with whatever needs done. We had a dinner at our home Saturday night with about 25+ people for a missionary visiting from Haiti. Aimee was a great help in the kitchen and with the other kids who came. She kept things under control and even helped deal with one of the little ones who ended up getting sick all over the bathroom. We are so thankful for your company and help Aimee!! :0)

Thomas

Anna really likes Thomas the Train and I was able to find quite the deal on Tuesday. The resale shop had this train for 5.50 and we had just played with it at the grocery store where it was priced 16.99. What a deal! She wasn't with me when I got it so I held off giving it to her until this morning and she was thrilled. She's had so much fun playing with it today. I love a good bargain, such a blessing!!

Anna and the Banana

We had a fun time trick or treating last night. Anna was really into it this year and happily rode along in the wagon hollering, "More candies!". Whenever she'd see a porch light on she'd get excited and point saying, "Candy!" She was quite the cute little ladybug! Anna wasn't too sure what to think about Uncle Nate's banana costume. Although, a 6'2" banana probably would seem a bit intimidating if we were all 2 year olds. Nate was the star of the neighborhood with kids screaming about the banana. He managed to get a few laughs as well. :0) Anna LOVED passing out candy. She would wait at the door until the next group of kids came by. A town nearby had their trick or treating last Friday so we were able to pass out candy that night and go out ourselves last night. A few times she would come ask us if there would be more kids coming and when they did come, she liked to give them handfuls of candy each. We had to hold her back so we didn't run out. Finally some more trick or treaters!! I think she enjoyed passing out the candy as much as she liked getting it. :0)

Baby Girl #2

That's right! We had our ultrasound today and saw little girl parts. :0) We are thankful we were able to find out although our little one was quite the acrobat making it hard for the technician to measure anything as she was constantly moving. We showed Anna a tiny pink onesie that she wore as a newborn and told her the new baby girl was going to wear it. She thought it was funny when Mommy held it up to her belly. Although the baby is measuring ahead, the doctor decided not to move my due date up so it's going to stay at March 16. This bummed Mommy but baby girl #2 may come sooner than that anyway...we'll see what God's plan is. :0) We're halfway done, only 20 more weeks to go, that is if we go to the 16th.

Rotavirus

The past week has been a rough one for Anna. She's had a terrible stomach virus, Rotavirus, that's caused diarrhea, vomiting, and awful stomach cramps. It's been so hard to see her in pain and not be able to do anything to help her. Thankfully by Tuesday evening she started feeling a bit better and actually played with her toys a bit. Up until that point she either wanted to be held or wanted to rest on the couch watching movies. I think we're officially over the virus now as it's been almost 48 hours since she's had a yucky diaper. A week of this awful virus is plenty!! Praise the Lord for answering our prayers and healing her body.

Yummy Cookies

Anna's had a rough week of teething so we decided to do something fun tonight to help get her mind off the discomfort in her mouth. She's also got a nasty stomach bug right now that's left us with many messy diapers, dirty clothes, carpet and rugs to clean, etc. Hopefully it's past soon! So, what else makes you feel better than to make cookies?! She's not a kid who likes sweets (Michael and I are baffled at this, is she really our daughter?) so we didn't have to worry about her wanting to eat any. We're sticking to the B.R.A.T. diet until she's better.

Babies

Many have been asking for a belly picture so here you go... almost 16 weeks along when this was taken. We went to the doctor for a check-up on Tuesday and all is going well, praise the Lord. The heart rate was 146 bpm and my uterus is measuring a few weeks ahead. I measured ahead of schedule with Anna too and they moved my due date up so they're considering doing that with this baby as well. We have another ultrasound scheduled for October 25 so hopefully we'll be able to find out then if we're having another girl or a boy. Whenever we talk about the baby in mommy's belly, Anna has to get her baby too. She'll be a great help!

The Pumpkin Patch

We visited a pumpkin patch and Anna enjoyed being outside looking at pumpkins, petting the animals, jumping in the bounce house, and watching other kids. She wanted to ride the ponies but we thought $4 for a pony ride was a bit pricey and it wasn't too long ago (Labor Day weekend) that she got to do that. Anna found a fun spot to play with tractors and diggers or "big diggas" as she likes to call them. :0) We were thrilled that the animals were tame enough to come up to the fence where she could pet them. They had a bounce house and Anna started asking to jump as soon as she saw it when we pulled in the driveway. Thankfully it wasn't very busy and she could jump safely as long as she wanted.

Playing the piano

A special treat for Anna is getting to play the piano. We have my Great Grandma's piano and it's old and out of tune but very special. We hope Anna will want to learn to play the piano or some musical instrument as she's very into music, singing, dancing, etc. as is Mommy and Daddy.

Julie and Mary

Anna LOVES her babies. Julie and Mary are her "best friends" and keep her very entertained throughout the day. She's often quite busy feeding them, changing their diapers and clothes, and taking them for walks or to the grocery. She can also make them burp and likes to sing to them. She'll be a great help here in a few months when her new brother or sister arrives.

Little Fishy

Anna is such a fish when it comes to water. She loves floating, getting her face wet, and playing in the tub, pool, or whatever is around that involves water. I often catch her with her stool pushed up to the kitchen sink trying to play in the water there. We'll definitely be starting swim lessons next spring.

Fall weather

We've enjoyed some beautiful fall weather lately and it's been so nice having the windows open and playing outside without being hot. We take walks almost every night after dinner which Anna loves and it's been fun chatting with the neighbors all over the subdivision as well. Anna's also had a good time playing with her new soccer ball. Daddy thought she needed one and every time we go outside now she has to have the soccer ball with her.

Riding the train

Last Sunday night was the kick off for our Awana children's program at church and to celebrate they had the Boilermaker Special come. Anna loves trains and was pretty excited to get to ride on it until they blew the whistle. That was a bit scary for her as it's soooo loud but she did well.

I've had trouble getting recent videos to work so I'm trying a new site that I've seen on a friend's blog. We'll see if this works. I'm still in the process of learning this so I accidentally have two videos back to back. One is Anna on the pony ride and the other is from our friends' visit a few weeks ago, the girls playing in the wagon.

Labor Day weekend

This past weekend we went to a Labor Day festival and Miss Anna got to ride a pony. We went to this same festival last year and she loved her pony ride then but we weren't sure how she'd like it this year. She LOVED it as you can see from the pictures and the video. She giggled the entire time which had us giggling too of course. It's amazing how much she's grown and changed in just a year!

Now she's a big girl

What a nice pony! My sister and her family, my brother, and Michael's dad all came for the festival as well. We had a good time especially once the game of volleyball in our backyard began. I don't think the college recruiters will be giving any of us a call anytime soon. :0)

Anna and Kenley had a great time getting dirty while we played volleyball. They were busy in the sand table, eating chocolate chip cookies, and playing in the shed. Here's a picture of the dirty little ladies before getting a serious soak in the tub. Too bad the picture doesn't show the ketchup all over Anna's face from her dinner, her filthy feet from going barefoot, and Kenley's black hands from the sand. They were a mess but very happy! They also both had very stinky poopy diapers. :0)
