Happy Grandparents' Day!

The girls are so blessed to have such wonderful grandparents! We love you!!

Success!

Audrey no longer needs her paci, Praise the Lord! It wasn't nearly as bad as we expected breaking her of the habit. For the first week she would cry when we put her down for a nap or to bed but not for long, anywhere from 5-15 minutes with the longest being the first 2 days. She would then fall asleep and slept fairly good most nights. She's now going to sleep without crying and doing well. Glad we've got that behind us!

1st Day of Preschool

The day finally arrived! Anna was beyond excited! I hope she's always that excited for school. She had her first day of preschool for the year yesterday and loved it. She's been counting down the days for awhile now. She was so excited she didn't even eat all of her lunch and wanted to finish it when we got home. Wish I could be a fly on the wall in her classroom. Daddy and I both wrote her special notes. I put one in her lunch bag and Daddy left his on her placement so she'd get it at breakfast. He reminded her to obey and listen to her teacher. I told her to remember that the teacher was in charge before we left the house for preschool. I'm sure she'd love to "teach" the class herself, especially enjoying telling the other boys and girls what to do. She's a natural born leader. :) Such a stinker! She cracked me up getting out of the van, putting her back pack on the ground, yanking up the handle, and marching towards the building. I was not prepared for her to be on a mission quite like that. It was obvious she knew how to use that back pack! Anna seems to like her teacher, Ms. Joy. She did tell me after school that Ms. Joy wasn't very nice because she told her "no" when Anna asked if she could sit on her lap when Ms. Joy was reading the story to the class. I had to hold back a chuckle and explain that it wasn't fair for Ms. Joy to hold her and not the other kids. Audrey cried when we left Anna. Mommy was fighting back tears too. I think Audrey wanted to stay and play. Thankfully Anna is very adaptable and has no problem with me leaving her anywhere. It would be awful if she cried when I left her. I'd be a wreck then too. When I went to pick her up, she was so excited to tell me about her day and I was so excited to see her!! 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. is a long time!

Labor Day Weekend

We had a great weekend with my parents, so glad they could come. On Saturday we had a full day of shopping (guys went fishing), a picnic lunch enjoying the beautiful weather, and then Sat. evening Michael and I went on a date just the two of us which was sooooo nice! Taking Anna's order... Where's Audrey's nose? Little Miss Poser Anna Audrey the Explorer...she did really good staying close to us while at the park and didn't head straight to the lake like I anticipated. The girls got Grandma and Grandpa on their feet dancing to the Wiggles. :) Grandma gives good horsey rides...it's more fun of course when wearing a tu-tu. Once we got the girls in bed, we had some adult fun playing a great boardgame - Settlers of Catan. Thanks Mom and Dad for coming! We love you and miss you already!

New Tunes

I've enjoyed listening to music on my friends' blogs so I thought I'd do the same on our's. Anna calls it "shake your booty music". Both girls start dancing whenever they hear a good song...so does their mommy! :) Scroll to the bottom if you'd like to change the song.

Ready for Preschool

Anna is ready for preschool. She's got her backpack complete with her name monogrammed on it (gotta love ebay!) and her lunch bag and accessories. Do you think she likes the color pink? She starts September 9th and goes from 9-1 Monday, Wednesday, and Friday of each week. She can hardly wait! As you can see, her most precious things (backpack and doll Julie) are always by her side even when laying on the floor watching t.v. :)

No More Pacis

It's that time...time to break the pacifier habit. Audrey's not thrilled about it, actually has gotten mad, but hopefully after a few tough days we'll be past it and all will be well again.

Fun in the closet

There's not a day that goes by that the girls don't play in my shoes, mainly high heels, and purses. Maybe if I practiced every day, I could walk good in them too. :)

Miss Whitney

Our good friend Whitney came to visit last week and we had a great time. Her laughter and joyful personality was such a blessing. She brought the girls some fun toys she found while in Mexico. Audrey couldn't quit shaking her maraca long enough for me to take a picture. :)

Plates, Bowls, and Cups Oh My!

The girls have had more fun playing with these than using them to eat their food on. If I need them to be distracted for a few minutes, I dig these out of the pantry and they are entertained. Thanks Debbie for passing these on to us! Who knew they'd be so intriguing. :) Anna took this last picture of Audrey. She's becoming quite the little photographer always wanting to take pictures. Gee, wonder who she gets that from? :)

Fun at the Fair

At the end of July we visited Michael's family and had a wonderful time playing games, eating good food, and visiting the county fair. Anna just couldn't get enough of her cousins Hallee, Fairin, and Bayli. They play so well together and she gets quite spoiled with all of the attention they give her. The girls were asleep almost immediately when we started the trek back home. Visiting family and the fair is exhausting! :)

Minnie Mommies

The girls both love to feed their babies and stuffed animals. I love to watch them play especially when they don't know I'm watching. :) This cracks me up! She's got such a mommy look with her legs crossed, head tilted like she's thinking, "come on kid, hurry up and eat your dinner", and the way her mouth is like she's mimicking a baby. Oh Anna!

Sweet Sisters

These girls just can't get enough of their books! Off for a "walk" around the house. They both wave and tell us "bye" when they pass by. Anna loves to hold Audrey's hand like she's her mommy and Audrey thinks they really are going somewhere. Too cute!
